WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the
computer
screen
or
on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon
cancer by
45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one
is
50%
less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount

of
water
you should drink every day?

COKE also applies to diet coke

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke
in
the
trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be
gone
in
two
days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet
bowl
and
let
the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric
acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper
with
a
rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of
Coca-Cola
over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to
the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking
pan,
wrap
the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is
finished,
remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for
a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8... To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the
load
of
greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle.
The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean
road haze
from
your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will
dissolve
a
nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from

bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of
osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial
trucks
must
use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines
of
the
trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water? or Coke?

a few gulps of Scot's water, straight from the burn after a climb, on a hot day is gorgeous. It tastes of peat and heather, you are in fact, drinking an ingredient of whisky

There realy is something that you are saying regarding the Coke for I can remember a time back in my past when my Dad on occassion would use Coke in the cleaning of some antiques that he had acquired. Then my Mom could be heard saying, if Coke will clean off that old rust just think of what harm it is doing to your stomach..

When it comes to fresh from the well water there is nothing like water from the Flowing Well of Pier Port in Northern Michigan...water flows crisp and exceedinly cold all day and all night with it's overflow making for a stream that leads into Lake Michigan... to drink of that water surrounded by pine trees...pure refreshment at its finest.

Hi, folks! I've seen similar forwards about the benefits of water, and the harm of Coke before. I do think the benefits of water are based in medical fact. Doctors would verify that information as being correct. However, I don't believe the same is true for Coke. First, I've tried several of those things, and they don't work. Second, if you go to:
www.snopes.com
and type in the word Coke, you'll get all the various Coke hoaxes that have circulated around the Internet. The one at the top of this board is the largest of those.

Just thought I'd add that. I guess I'm the first one here who actually likes drinking plain water. Yes, I love my soda as much as the next person, but if I'm really thirsty, nothing but water will satisfy that. I also work in customer service, talking on the phones all day, and need lots of water to keep my voice nornal! LOL.

Hardly ever drink plain water on it's own, yucky!

I drink around sixty to eighty ounces of water a day, counting plane water and that which has been mixed with Crystal Light. I drink eighty to one hundred ounces of non-soda liquids a day, including water, Crystal Light, fruit juices, mixes such as chai, hot chocolate, Slim Fast, etc and meat or vegetable broths. As a voice major i need a great deal of water a day, as do all human beings, but my voice compells me to drink, as it were. I don't know if all of those things are true of Coke, I am somewhat skeptical, however I certainly believe that some of those facts are indeed true. I am blessed in that I don't really care for Coke, accept for the Coke Black that is coffee flavor, but it is a treat, not a beverage and I rarely purchase it for that reason and because it is hard to find. I do like other sodas, especially cream soda, orange, and root beer, but I don't drink any of those regularly either, prefering to have them in a soda/ice cream float on ocasion as a dessert. Could you please post the source of this information? I would like to use it in my online Fittness For Women course. Just to share it with the group. Thanks.
